NBA shot-blocking king and Utah Jazz legend Mark Eaton has died. He was 64. ESPN reported that Eaton died as a result of a bicycle crash. The 7-foot-4 center twice won the NBA defensive player of the year award. He spent his entire career with the Jazz, led the league in blocks per game four times and his average of 5.6 per contest in 1984-85 remains the highest average since the NBA started officially tracking that statistic.

PSU Trustee meeting planned to discuss next steps in Beaver Stadium Renovation Project

University Park, PA (WJAC) — Plans for renovations at Beaver Stadium could be moving forward. On May 21st, a special meeting of the Penn State Board of Trustees has a topic listed on its agenda as "proposed project approval, Beaver Stadium renovation.” A $700 million renovation project was announced last year to primarily focus on the west side of the stadium, where luxury suites and other improvements would be added.

Richland School District unveils new tennis courts

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with Richland School District held a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony Friday for its new tennis facility. The facility now stands at the site of the old Rachel Hill Elementary School that was shut down and later demolished. The project cost the district nearly $650,000, but leaves the district with six regulation tennis courts, two of which are for public use. District officials say there were able to get more than just the tennis courts.
